biking all the way to chicago

Here is my outfit for today. I found this old guitar-shaped bag, I think it was from Claire's, in my closet and decided to use it, even though in past years I always thought it was "lame and ugly". I found that not only is it useful and convenient, its not actually that ugly after all.

shirt: forever 21
shorts: target
tights: topshop
jacket: thrifted
shoes: (out of picture) thrifted
bag: claire's

whats up doc?

Hey everyone, I'm back from camp! It was the most amazing time of my life, I had so much fun. As I promised, I did take pictures of the new clothes I got before camp. Here is what I wore today. If you can't tell, the vest has Looney Tunes characters on it. These pictures are pretty crappy since my camera screen broke and I can't see anything while taking it. Anyway the vest and shoes are from Salvation Army, the shorts from AE, and the shirt from target. Click to enlarge.. and enjoy!

sorry to be so hasty!

Hey guys, I'm really sorry I should have told you before, but I'm leaving for camp today. I'll be gone for 8 weeks, so don't be surprised if I don't post till August. I went shopping yesterday and got: a school girl dress, a demin dress, a Looney tunes vest, awesome shoes, a sweater and a neon windbreaker, but I don't have time to take pictures of them! As soon as I get back I will, so sorry to be hasty but see you in 8 weeks!! I look forward to reading all of your posts when I get back.

sack & maxi

I found the perfect designer to fit my 90s clothes obsession: Georgina Harley-Smith. I had never really heard of her before, and I kind of liked her name so I decided to check it out. And coincidentally, most of her Autumn/Winter 2008-9 line was 90s inspired! I am in heaven right now, just looking at all her collections. Here are some of my favorite outfits by her (from the Autumn/Winter 2008-9 line only):

I just realized that three of them are the same model. She's really good..I should find out who she is. Anyway don't you love these?! I absolutely love sack dresses like the 3rd, and maxi dresses, but since I'm short they don't flatter me at all. =[ Oh well, I'll find something like this soon I hope. I'm going shopping tomorrow so I'll look for things like this!!

i need a new belt!!

dress: thrifted
belt: sister's
socks: target
shoes: thrifted

This is what I wore today. Yeah I know, I'm really going for 90s and florals lately. I was gonna go shopping today but the person who I was going with canceled and I didn't know so I was waiting for her...anyway I never really got to shop. Sorry about the red eyes. I'm too lazy to make them normal. I really do need a new belt though, I have been wearing my sister's in almost every outfit!! Crizelle suggested I steal it, haha I would love to..but my sister would kill me. Next time I go shopping a leather belt is definitely on my list.

i'm from jersey

I just saw Jersey Boys: it was amazing!! It was so unexpectedly good..like I didn't know what it was going to be about, besides the general topic of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. ANyway, the show was awesome but so were the outfits. (the girls') I mean the guy's dressed pretty good too, but..anyway, here are some examples of the clothes:

No, they aren't exact. I couldn't find exact outfits. The closest one (and my favorite) is the first one. They also wore one like that with white dots on it. Also, they had on a lot of checkered things. They also wore sparkly tunics but those were hard to find pictures of and also not really outfits. Anyway see Jersey Boys, its SO good!!

my only Friends...

One of my FAVROITE tv shows of all time is Friends. I only own seasons 1 - 6, (yeah, I know, you're going "really, caroline? you only own those six seasons?") but I love all of the ones I have seen. No, I haven't seen the last episode, don't spoil it for me. So tonight, I was watching one of my favorite ones, The One With the Flashback. Anyway, I noticed along the way that I really liked bits and pieces of Rachel, Monica and Phoebe's outfits. Yes, they are very 90s, and they are mostly either really tight or really loose, and always bright colored things, but I love most of them. Here are two of my favorites:

Sorry there's only two, and that they're so hard to see the outfits, but in the first one i LOVE Courtney Cox's sweater. And I love both dresses in the second picture, isn't Jennifer Aniston's dress pattern awesome? Anyway, I just had to say that I really like the 90s now. Hmm..maybe I'll get a few 90s accessories and clothes. I'll go shopping as soon as possible. =]

feeling floral

So today was REALLY hot. I wore my new shorts, which I have worn before but my camera was broken, remember? Anyway here it is:

shorts: thirfted
shirt: target
belt: sister's closet

I know, I know. i wear my sister's belt way to much. I really need a few of my own..I also got a haircut. My hair's up to my shoulders now!! I cut it after I took the pictures so my hair is long in the pictures still. I just took a shower but tomorrow I'll post my new hair as well as my outfit. Ahh, it's so warm outside even though it's night. I love it.

grandmas dont spread their legs

Hey guys! I'm officially a freshman; graduation was on Tuesday!! Sorry I haven't posted since the 2nd, but we had a ton of parties and stuff..I'm really glad it's over though. I mean I'm excited for high school because I can start completely over and wear whatever I want, and no one will question anything. Which'll be really fun, so get ready for some awesome posts in the fall. Anyway, since my camera was broken I never got to show you my graduation shoes, so here they are:
it was dark but they were basically patent pumps with an ankle strap..REALLY hard to walk in but i love them.

So last night I went to sleep over at my friend Emily's house. We were rummaging through all her clothes, and I actually made a couple cute outfits from her old clothes that she never wears. I love all of the outfits especially the teddy bear dress!!

Sorry, I don't know where the stuff is from. But I just wanted to put these up so I can remember the outfits, and hopefully Emily will want to wear these outfits now. Also, I know my faces look weird in these pictures, especially the last one. I was laughing because I was accidentally speading my legs apart when she was taking the picture of me in the white sweater. (we called it her grandma sweater) So she said to me "grandmas don't spread their legs apart!" And that's why I was laughing. It was really fun..I especially love the red fishnets. I'll probably blog a few more times before going to camp for 8 weeks, (exciting, i know!!) so bye for now!

romper-ing

Sorry I keep having these huge gaps in between posting..but now my camera is kind of broken. When I plug it into the computer to upload the pictures it turns off automatically! Which sucks, because i just went shopping at a place yesterday called Something Old, Something New, and bought the cutest things!! Ugh its the worst time to break my camera. Anyway, a few days ago I was looking at some clothes my sister had and I saw something I really liked, so I asked what it was and she told me it was a romper. Now I can't stop looking for a romper when I go shopping, (in every store I went to yesterday, I looked for one, but couldn't find any!!) Here are some good ones.

Cute, no? The green ones are my FAVROITE..damn why can't I find any??? Ahhhh. Meh.

hard choices

Ok, ok. I promised. I will put up a picture of my graduation dress, seeing graduation is THIS TUESDAY!!! But there's a little change...so the really pretty blue chiffon dress I loved, but the only problem was that there was some material at the bottom that I didn't like. So I tried cutting it off, you know? But that only ruined the dress...so I bought another one. It's a black tube dress - well, you can see it - but then I realized that I can still wear the chiffon one. But now I have no idea what to do!! And I need to know before I decide what shoes to wear on that night. This is so annoying..opinions, PLEASE!!

The blue chiffon dress ^

this isnt as wide when I put it on..haha^^

the top of the black dress. its not silver, its totally black, but i put on flash so you can see the details ^^

the ruined part of the chiffon dress. See, I think I can cut that out and just have the bottom be flat..but I don't really know ^^

memorial day weekend

So from Friday till today, I have been wearing new outfits using all my old clothes. Here is what I wore on Saturday and Sunday:

shirt: dad's closet
vest: thrifted
belt/leggings: sister's closet

shirt/shorts: Target
blazer: Ann Taylor
shoes: Old Navy

I really like the first one; what I like about it is that I can wear it as a vest dress or as a vest over the white shirt. The leggings are worn as tights, but I could have just worn tights with it. The second outfit was fun to wear, and I loved wearing shorts for once! It's FINALLY warm outside - 70 degrees!! Summer's coming...

something blue

Hey, sorry I haven't written in a long time. Good news: I finally got a graduation dress!! I love it so much; it's a v-neck, all different shades of blue and chiffon. I'll take a picture of it later, when it's dry cleaned and hemmed and shit.. anyway, here is my outfit from yesterday:

Shirt/sweater: Target

Skirt: Urban Outfitters

Tights/belt: Sister's closet

I really liked this outfit, even though I know it isn't my most amazing creation ever. I was going to wear it with a green cardigan instead of the black one, but I decided at last minute I liked the black one better, and plus I didn't think the colors looked right together with those shades of green, purple and blue. Lately I've been wanting to wear tights with more things, even though it's spring and I should be wearing skirts and shorts and not being cold. (but hey, I live in Chicago so it's pretty much cold till July, and then it's a sauna till October) So get ready for yellow, green, red, hot pink and black fishnet tights, because I will probably wear all of those kinds soon enough. (my favorites are ones I found in my sister's closet with the blue ones: they are the same color blue, but sheer, with tiny bows on them. I will definitely wear them soon as well) I also debated on whether to wear the leather belt with this or not, but the skirt just didn't look right without it; there is sort of a gap where a belt is supposed to be. To tell you the truth, I didn't realize the skirt was high waisted when I got it. I'm not even sure it is, I might just be short enough to wear it high waisted. But I like it better like this, so I'm wearing it high from now on. I have to go now, but more tomorrow!!

graduation 08

So I'm graduating from 8th grade in 2 1/2 weeks. Pretty exciting. The only thing that sucks is that i don't have a dress yet. I did find a cute one, but i held off on buying it for so long that they no longer have it in my size!! And by now there's almost nothing available...I mean I know what styles and colors I like, but I really can't find anything anywhere. Also, since I'm tiny, a lot of stuff doesn't look great on me. Here are some dresses that I would LOVE to have for graduation - or at least something like it:

Balmain (above)

Oscar de la Renta (above and below)
Ifa Lethu & Karen MonkKlijnstra (below)I know, I know. The last one I would probably not end up wearing to graduation..but fun colors like that and definitely a skirt like that I would wear. I think my favorite is the red Oscar de la Renta. Any suggestions?

gladiator men

Hey, I'm back!! Israel was amazing, but it was awesome coming back and seeing people comment on my last two posts. When i was in Israel, i did not dress my cutest, i admit. But one thing i saw that i now MUST have are gladiator sandals. I noticed them at first, because a lot of people had them. But then we went to this murder mystery one night, (it was fake, planned, and, yes, lame) and there was a "gladiator" there, and i could not stop looking at his shoes. I even told him i love them, but he stayed in character of course and ignored me. I do have a pair of gladiator-looking shoes, and I'll put them up when my camera isn't dead. But for now, here are the styles i love:

How amazing??

my inner farmer

I've always been kind of obsessed with overalls, and I even used to own a few pairs when I was little. But when I entered middle school, of course it became "uncool" to wear them. (oh sixth graders..) But recently I have really wanted to buy some new pairs. I do have my checkerboard multicolored shortalls, but what I really want is just an old fashioned pair of denim overalls. Here are the kinds that are my favorite:

Aren't they awesome? Especially the last pair..they're kids but I could probably squeeze my 4'10 body into them.

thrifting

So I went shopping at Ragstock today; it's a thrift store near my house. I also went to a couple other stores but didn't find anything. Anyway I bought some pretty cool clothes there, but the problem is I don't know what to wear them with. Any ideas??

my feet are awkward.

Sorry these are horizontal, but my computer is screwed up and wouldn't let me rotate them. This outfit wasn't one that I spent a long time planning out, I just wore it today. The jeans are definitely my favorite pair, and they were from Forever 21! Good quality, cheap, comfortable and fitting. Also, sorry my foot is so awkward in the first picture; I was trying to get the shoes in the picture. The shoes are tap dancing shoes, but usually I would wear this outfit with black jazz shoes. Hope you like it!!
